3 Stars-Lacks Intuition

This app is a solid three in my book. The UI is good for the most part. Nods advise is great when things are working well, but is lacking if it does not. The first few weeks of following the program we were doing good and nod was easy to use and each next step seemed intuitive and logical. However, near some of the later steps nod became unclear as to what I was supposed to do. My child no longer sleeps in a crib, but the app was so specific that the child must sleep in a crib, I had to guess how to modify this for my situation - not a big deal, but I feel like others will be in the same boat. My child had 3-4 consistently bad nights and nods advise was that things were going great and wanted to continue with the sleep training. I did try contacting support and got a response within 2-3 days. They said that there is no way to pause the program at this time and they needed to check with their sleep specialists for what to do if your child is in their own bed and not a crib.

In the meantime while waiting for an answer, I found another app (paid, but not a subscription) that seems to suit my needs better. It’s more simplistic and easier to follow with a steady progression on how to get your child to sleep better. It also gives advise immediately if and when you child wakes up. It’s everything a tired parent could ask for.

Nod sets up a great foundation for beginning to sleep train your child which is why I’m giving it 3 stars.

Really wanted to love this

I really wanted to love this app. It’s a beautiful design and I loved the concept, plus the developers have been so responsive when I need help. Ultimately, it’s just too complicated to be worth the effort in tracking. The sleep log would benefit from a feature allowing you to log details of sleep (did baby nurse to sleep, fall asleep independently, etc). Also, the recommendations just don’t always make sense - the other night I logged that I was up multiple times for hours and it told me things were going great. The final straw was today - I hadn’t logged for about 24 hours due to being extremely busy with my baby. When I went to log my day’s info, it alerted me that my goal had been removed for not tracking enough. At that point, I decided to throw in the towel and delete the app. Really hope this is improved in the future as it’s a great concept!

Developer Response ,

Hi vmfan331, thank you so much for the feedback. We're working on the sleep details logging feature, so that's in the works, thank you! And, we're constantly working on the recommendations--we know you got a couple of buggy cards and recommendations, and our apologies for that. We're working every day to make Nod better, so if you ever want to come back and try it again, it should be improved and we would love to see if we can help!

Was good for two weeks, now all of a sudden I was tracking a sleep session and I CANNOT edit or delete it (I’ll tap the stop button and it’ll stop tracking for a second then go right back to tracking, it doesn’t give me enough time to tap the delete button). Currently it says my baby has been sleeping for 50 hours. I’ve resorted to tracking his sleep/feedings in the notes section of my phone and it is honestly much easier. All I really wanted was an app to do the math for me, adding up how many ounces he eats and how many hours a day he sleeps. Another thing I don’t like is if you are bottle feeding and tracking a session, it doesn’t let you put in a finish time. I like to know how long it takes for my baby to finish a bottle. Also, I signed up for the $4.99 monthly subscription and NEVER unsubscribed, yet I got an email a few days ago from Nod saying I successfully unsubscribed. Unsubscribing and deleting.

Developer Response ,

Hey Ashley, thank you for notifying us of this, we're sorry about the frustrations! Can you please tap on Settings (upper left of your home screen) > Help & Support > Force clean up. This will fix the problem with your sleep tracker. We are also about to release a new version of the app which will prevent this from occurring again. In relation to the unsubscribing issue can you please email our team at so we can look into your account further. Thank you so much and again, our apologies for all of this!
