Noir is a Safari extension that automatically adds a dark mode to every website you visit.
It makes browsing the web at night so much better. With Noir, you won’t be blinded by bright websites ever again.
And the results look great too. Noir generates a custom dark style for each website you visit, based on the colors that are used on a page. You won’t even notice this happening in the background – that’s how fast it is – but you’ll certainly appreciate the end result: a beautiful dark mode tailored for each website, where contrast is preserved and highlights still pop. And with over 20 built-in themes and the ability to create your own, you can customize the results exactly the way you want.
Noir works with any website you visit in Safari, automatically. By default, Noir is linked to your device’s Dark Mode, so websites will only go dark when you want them to. But you can easily customize this to your liking, even per website. Only want to use Noir on just a few specific websites? Sure thing! Disable Noir on some websites? No problem!
The app feels right at home on your device. It is a Safari extension, which means there’s no need to manually activate it every time you load a new page. The app also tightly integrates with system features such as Shortcuts, Focus Filters, and Widgets to fully integrate Noir in all your workflows. And your settings are automatically synced to all your devices using iCloud.
And just as importantly, Noir takes your privacy seriously: it doesn’t collect any of your browsing data. Period.

Pretty good but could be improved with a single change.
For the most part the app works decently albiet not as customizable as others by allowing manual control user sliders/values to adjust the darkening of a page.
The single thing though that would make this app perfect and most changes not matter at all would be the ability to control text color. Currently about 40% of pages I visit are unreadable due to this. When this happens I have to disable Noir to be able to read the page at all.
Jeffrey, I hope these are some changes you can make in future updates, GIT Commits, etc.

I usually try to avoid paid apps because broke, but the free options for dark mode on Safari are either incompatible with most sites or only have a "dark" option that's really just a dark shade of gray, or mostly both.
I use zyBooks for most of my online college courses. Since I do all my course work at night, this site is always blinding and giving me headaches pretty often.
I've tried every free dark mode option you can think of, and I'm mad at myself for taking so long to buy Noir. I paid the $3, downloaded the app, chose the "Black" mode of course, then moved to Safari and it was already running, and it looks beautiful. I've bought some apps in the past and downloaded many free apps and this is easily the happiest I've been about spending $3 on an app.

Hands down the best dark mode browser plugin I have ever found.
First let's just appreciate how difficult of a problem it is to automatically add dark mode to sites that do not have dark mode. Noir has to intelligently figure out if the app already has dark mode and if so then do nothing. If it doesn't have dark mode, then Noir has to figure out exactly what is dark text on a light background and it has to flip them. And it has to do this intelligently for every website on the internet.
Is it perfect? No. But it's freaking good at it. So good that many sites I use don't have dark mode and I don't even notice because it just plain works. Thank you Noir. You're amazing!
