this app—and concept—is so neat!

everything about it is just a joy to experience: to the beautifully crafted UI, and the photo integration that syncs with the pictures i took during my walks, to the little informational tidbits that compare your workouts to other life events (“you walked longer than the Golden Gate bridge”).

i noticed this app when it was featured on the App Store a few weeks ago, loved it, and purchased the “lifetime pro” installment. it adds a bit more fun to your workouts/workout data, and i’m all here for!

Crashes, Notifications Make No Sense

I got this and bought premium because I really wanted another way to slice and dice my data and keep myself motivated. That it has widgets and could help me create a dashboard of sorts was a great plus.

The problems started almost immediately. When trying to scroll down the screen, things stop, nothing is clickable, the header and text that scrolls up overlaps and jumbles. Only closing the app resolves it, but the problem has continued every time I’ve attempted to check the app. Moreover, I get congratulated for workouts from days ago. I just got about five congratulations notifications for workouts yesterday or days prior. All at once. It’s kind of pointless.

Don’t buy it.

Hi, sorry you’ve not had a great time with Personal Best so far.

I’m working on improvements to the notification system as we speak to prevent these issues happening. It’s labelled as a beta feature for this reason - the vast majority of workouts are working correctly, but the Apple Health app landscape is so diverse that it’s very difficult to account for all situations and apps.

The scrolling behaviour is concerning, I haven’t heard reports of this from anybody and Personal Best is using standard iOS UI elements for everything, so this shouldn’t happen. Regardless, I’ll investigate and see what I can do.
