Description

https://github.com/tanin47/noo/releases/tag/2.0

Noo enables you to map a mouse button and a trackpad gesture to a set of keys.

Please note that each mouse labels their button numbers differently. You can test which button number map to a mouse button by opening a text editor, setting the mouse button to map to any key, and click on your mouse.

Noo needs the accessibility feature which you can grant the access under "Security & Privacy".

I built Noo to be used with Tip (https://github.com/tanin47/tip), and Noo is open-sourced here: https://github.com/tanin47/noo

saving my trackman marble from obsolescence

I've been using a Trackman Marble for over 20 years. The ambidextrous trackball has saved me from repetitive stress injuries - because I can literally shift it across my desk and use the other hand! But Logitech is no longer willing to support it on Macs. Noo allows me to map the mini buttons to page-up/page-down - which isn't quite the same scrolling function Logitech's driver used to allow, but it works in most apps (not the App Store, for instance, which seems odd). But there isn't a currently supported ambidextrous trackball that's half as comfortable under my hands. So thank you for allowing me to continue using this old one. If the page-up/down worked in more apps, and in sidebars, I'd give 5 stars.

Problem with M1 Build

I just got a new M1 iMac and this says it's a universal build that supports native M1. Unfortunately, on the first run it asked me to install Roseatta to continue. I hope this gets fixed because I've been using this little utility for a while and it works perfectly once you figure it out.

Unmaintained

Simple to set up, but it's not working. Specifically, when I set up Ctrl up arrow as a shortcut for accessing mission control, it doesn't press Ctrl, only the up arrow. On their github page, there are several other reports of this issue that are years old, with no response. I appreciate the developer for creating this software, but they should take it down from the app store until they have the bandwidth to fix bugs in the most core functionality.

I'm switching to Karabiner elements. Less straightforward UI, but actively maintained, and does more.
