This App helps find and identify plants. When you give the App information about a plant, such as its location, flower color and the time of year, the App will quickly show you which plants match your selections.
The App includes 3,693 species of plants found in North California. Overall, 2,315 are "Wildflowers", 280 are shrubs, 146 are trees, 28 are vines, 486 are grass-like, 68 are fern-like, 173 are moss-like, 69 are seaweed and 224 are lichen.
Added more species, more plant descriptions and more plant photos. The plant distribution maps now have more data.

The real deal,
I was skeptical, a free app with a healthy size database of wildflowers and other plants? It’s simple but well executed. It’s easy and logical to filter your search for an unknown plant. I even tried a search-by-name only to find the Genus, my search term, had been changed. Yet, since other names were also in the file, there on display were the relevant plants. This app is much more useable than the one I paid money for, especially since that one couldn’t keep up with iOS updates.
Wonderful, easy to use app that’s a testament to the commitment of its volunteer creators. Thank you!
Love this app
The only problems I find with this app are that the pics of each plant are limited in number and you cannot enlarge them, so I have to double check some IDs online (which I would do anyway, so it's not that much of a problem) and the map on the "Time and Place" page is a little small, which means that you can't be as specific as I would like. That being said, I give this app 5 stars because I had several pics of plants (20+) that I spent days trying to ID through field guides and online searches and in less than an hour I IDed all but three using this app!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
