Editors’ Notes
For a relatively young app, Noto is quite polished. Digital envelopes store your notes, so organizing them is a cinch. We're delighted by how easy Noto makes formatting, too. Adding code, math equations, and photos can be done directly from the toolbar floating above the keyboard. iCloud handles syncing, so your notes stay updated across your devices.
So good, but with room for growth
This is the best note organizing app I’ve worked with yet. I was a longtime Evernote user and then have used Bear hardcore for the last two years, but needed more organization than tags can provide. My choices came down to Notion, Craft and Noto. Noto wins for my purposes. Notion is too clunky and Craft doesn’t allow for manual organization of notes only sorted lists. Noto not only allows for manual sorting, but makes it instant, intuitive and fun. As I organize thoughts and documents, that is what I want.
Now as for room for growth, I would like to see expanded export options. Getting imported content into Noto is a snap, but getting it out seems to be a note by note affair, no group exports. This needs to happen to make this a serious app and is really the only weak spot of great magnitude. Cosmetically, I would like to see more color options for folders and notes, but it’s no deal breaker. The short: the more I use it, the more I like it.
This app should have 5 stars if it weren’t for the lack of support
This app is honestly the best note taking app there is in my experience, and I’ve tried a lot. Its smooth, fast, and lets you make lots of folders and organize things. It also has decent manual export options if you’re not into backing them up ways that are unfortunately more popular now.
All that said, the big issue is the app has a couple really annoying bugs as I write this. Mainly you can make a folder completely unusable to where you can’t even access your notes if you copy and paste hyperlinks from bingai I believe and they won’t help you get those notes back. In addition, folders somehow get messed up and won’t make your most recent note appear at the top so you have to search for it every time or move everything to a new folder to correct this. So yeah, support is lacking a lot to the point where I may have to switch apps at some point, but really I don’t want to. I paid for this and I really think it is the best note app by far, and with no subscription as well. So I really hope they step up their support.
