I love the ability to use an app. I can use the finger print sign in, that was a very nice update a while back. The newest update had grouped “swipe-n-go” and “group transfers” under the same heading. I want to be able to sign in and clock in with swipe-n-go. I don’t even know what group transfer is and I don’t need it. The menu button in the upper left is good for if I need to look up something but 99% of my use is signing in and punching in. And the last update has made that harder. So I give 2 stars for a bad update. Make a swipe-n-go default start page or a swipe-n-go button on the dashboard and I will be happy. I don’t want to see a group transfer/swipe-n-go button though. That just adds more steps and more things I don’t need. Perhaps a toggle in setting for those who need group transfer?
Our time clock employees can see their work hours and submit their timesheet. Our salary employees can input and submit their project hours for the entire pay cycle. A small number of remote employees can only clock in from their mobile app with geo location data linked to their time punches. All our employees are able to submit PTO requests from their mobile phones.All our supervisors can fix missed punches and approve timesheets and PTO requests. The price is right - a free app! We just needed our system admin to enable the features for each selected group of employees and supervisors.
I checked the update history and noticed that NOVAtime Technology updated this app 8 times over the past 6 months. It seems like they are making a greater and greater investment in engineering, and the app is constantly getting better and better. Even though thousands of employees use the app and like it, I would guess that most of them are not inclined to interrupt their workday to write a positive review.
This app is not user friendly at all. The simple process of clock in and out is fine. But if you need to make any corrections then good luck trying to figure that out. It logs me out at least once a day. I spent 30 minutes trying to correct a missed punch. If you don’t make sure the home page refreshes before you clock in/out it won’t take it. But you won’t know until you go to clock in/out again. If I need to look at my current week attendance, it defaults to the previous week each time.
It would be perfect if I was able to use Location Services "While Using the App". In the iOS settings, the only options I have for location services are "Never" and "Always". Therefore, I don't allow NOVAtime my GPS location because I don't wish to be tracked 24/7. Please update with an options to use Location Services While Using the App.
We have been using this app for several months and have found it very easy to set up, maintain and use. Our employees are in the field and this makes it easy to collect their time. We also use the app to track their hours by customer. So much better than our old method.
