A solid foundation

Please keep the updates coming! Novellus is the mult-document version of PaperEdit, which I also use. It's a great tool for creating simple sentences, removing clutter, and catching repeats.

Novellus is similar to Scrivener and Storyist, but is much more Spartan in presentation.

Write or load up a document and see long sentences, prepositions, and clunky writing. Novellus works like the excellent, but not recently updated Hemingway Editor.

With so much moving to AI and Cloud, it's nice to have an app that works locally without an Internet connection.

Novellus is great for working on a first draft or tightening up multiple documents at the same time. It helps to streamline and focus your writing.

Novellus sits on a solid foundation, but I would love to see more development to make it a real replacement for Hemingway Editor. It would be nice to have more Preferences such as setting the default zoom level and default font. A user created list of words and phrases to avoid would be great. Better handling of Scrivener documents. I've loaded some larger documents and it didn't go so well.

Still, Novellus is a good product and I look forward to more updates and features. I'd love to see Novellus get updated every couple of months with new features instead of waiting years.

I Love it, Needs a bit more

I'm loving this so much, but recently I've been saving and the pages I just wrote are gone, nowhere to be seen again sometimes.

But I would really love if you had audio vocies, male or female voices to read back to you. The one on the app is super robotic and can't fully hear my story being read back to me properly so I can find any missing words or if I need it. I LOVE the edit feature where it'll catch passive voice or catching me repeat using the same words. Keep up the good work!

Working after update

I was having crash issues before, but the recent update fixed that. I’ve used both Storyist and Scrivener and this app is similar. Overall, it has fewer features than the previously mentioned apps, but that can actually be good if you are feeling overwhelmed with the feature set. Novellus also has an edit feature that I haven’t seen in other apps that highlight things like using passive voice, or repeatedly using a word.
