##About The Park.
This dramatic landscape testifies to nature's size, beauty, and diversity--huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world's largest trees. These two parks lie side by side in the southern Sierra Nevada east of the San Joaquin Valley. Weather varies a lot by season and elevation, which ranges from 1,370' to 14,494'.
Download the app before you arrive. Cell service and Wi-Fi are extremely limited in the park.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
Ratings and Reviews
Indispensable - be sure to download offline content
I usually don't write app reviews very often, but after spending 3 days in Kings Canyon hiking and sightseeing, this app was a godsend. There is no mobile phone or Internet service in Kings Canyon, so be sure to download offline content before heading into the park. The app takes a while to load up at first, but once it does, you'll have everything on your phone. It showed all the hiking trails, and with your phone GPS, you can see exactly where you are at all times. There's also great information on where to stop to enjoy the scenery and how long the trails are. Kudos to NPS for such a great app! [iOS 13, iPhone 6s]
There’s nothing in the app
There’s nothing in the app - just pictures of trees.
I select download on the third screen and it indicates it successfully downloaded but there’s nothing there.
It looks nothing like the pictures of the app in the App Store. I tried deleting and reinstalling- still nothing.
Nothing there after downloading 100MB of offline content
Running iOS 13.2.2. Nothing but a photo of trees appears on both iPad Pro and iPhone 7 Plus even after downloading what was purportedly 100MB of offline content. How about an update, NPS?
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
