Description

NSLookup is an internet utility to get domain's DNS information. It will help you to find the target IP address of a domain or see what name servers are set on a specific domain.

NSLookup for iPhone and iPad allows you to see the public DNS records of domains or sub domains. Then you may also query the NS and CNAME records. It's also possible to force it to get an authoritative response from main DNS server of the domain.

Don’t go pro - was a good app

It was a perfect app no issues at all. I wanted to support the dev so I pay the $2 the app crashed after removing the adds and will not start.

Deleted the app and reinstalled no change. I hope it is fixed in an update.

Used to work well. Now it doesn’t

It used to work well, but now it always queries internet dns servers (usually google dns) and completely ignores any dns server that I specify in settings.

I need an app to verify dns on a local, private network. This app is completely useless now that it ignores and refuses to contact my local LAN DNS servers.

Even internet DNS responses often fail to display proper A record information

Nice app... But...

This is a nice app with promise. There are only a couple of things that I see missing in this app. 1) The ability to copy results (especially IPv6 addresses). I know you can email the results to yourself, but that is cumbersome, if you just can't to copy and address or two. Being able to tap and hold on a result to copy the address would alone move this to four stars for me. 2) Server selection. By default, the app chooses a server to query. This is fine. It also lets you manually type in an address in the options. This is also good. But what I would like to see is a drop-down menu that let's you choose from well-know DNS servers such as Google, OpenDNS, etc, as well as the local DNS server for your network. 3) While it is very nice that you can tap on a CNAME record and drill down to have it resolve that host, this could become a 5-star app if it allowed you to click on an A or AAAA record, and get even more info about that IP range, etc.
