I am currently standing in PokéPark Kanto in Kawasaki, and the app says I need to be in Japan. I am certain it not based on your actual location, but the country set in the App Store. This means I cannot make timed entry reservations, which are needed for the store and other attractions, depending on your ticket.

If you have your phone registered in a different country (other than Japan), you will get a message that the app does not work unless you are in Japan. Workarounds: It works if using a VPN service and selecting Japan as the country. At the park, connecting to the PokePark WiFi gets the app to work with or without a VPN.

I’m trying to go on the app to download my tickets but it keeps saying “This app cannot be started up in your country or region.It is for use in Japan only.” How am I supposed to use the app if it won’t let me in.

Only works on wifi. Doesn’t work on cell towers with non Japanese phone
