Description
Oilmanac is a maintenance manager and service log for all your machines with small engines. It keeps all your maintenance data in one convenient place - on your iPhone, iPad, or both. No need to dig out the user manual and page through it every year to perform routine maintenance on your machine. Pull up the machine in Oilmanac, and all the information you need to perform the maintenance is immediately available. Once the maintenance is completed, you can easily record all the services you performed in the Service Log tab.
Enter your model specifications and maintenance recommendations for each machine from your user manual, or download them from the user database if available. A wide variety of machine types are available, including lawn mowers, lawn edgers, leaf blowers, yard vacuums, weed trimmers, hedge trimmers, tillers, power washers, water pumps, augers, chainsaws, log splitters, generators, snow blowers, outboard motors, personal water craft, all terrain vehicles, and snowmobiles. Available services are tailored to the specific machine, including oil and oil filter change, spark plug change, air filter clean and change, transmission/gear oil change for self propelled machines, grease, and others.

Good app. Needs a few things
Just got the app and I really like it for the most part. There is a lot of good thought into maintenance intervals and storing part numbers.
This has been mentioned but I will also say it. We need a way to manually add some categories. I own some classic tractors a bobcat and multiple trailers that I would like to track on this. I looked in the + to add and I only see fixed categories. I don’t see where my Bobcat or a tractor fits in. I can put it under mowers but that’s not what they are.
Like I said. Good app just as some customization for some of us who live outside the norm.
Good but needs additional maintenance field
Unable to add or track other maintenance such as blades. Lots of miscellaneous parts are helpful to track. Snow blower paddles and scraper blades for example. Currently adding to notes but it should be maintenance item
Not what I expected
The app seems like a great concept, but it’s very very limited. They give you a preset of like 12-15 small engines to choose from, and that’s it. You can’t enter in your own equipment, or call it what you want. I have hundreds of small engines and no where near half are listed. I would like to see user customization added to this app. Since we have to pay for it, it’s not worth the money for what it is. It would be alright if you had only a few items, but notepad in your phone would work just as well and it’s free. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone unless they add more features and allow the user more freedom with the app.

The functionality of the app and database are completely dependent on specific machine types. Available parts and services are derived from the machine type. For example, if you choose lawnmower, the app automatically adds lawnmower blade as a part and blade sharpening as a service. Without this specificity, the app would have no functionality beyond notepad or a spreadsheet. There are currently 16 machine types, as specifically listed in the app description. More machine types will be added in the future upon request, if they fit into the scope of the app. As stated in the description, the app is designed for machines with small engines, and support for some types of equipment, such as automobiles or large machinery, is currently not planned.
