DISH Anywhere requires an online DISH account and a Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 receiver model for slinging Live TV and DVR.

(DISH Anywhere users that do not own one of the above supported receivers but do have an online DISH account can still use the On Demand and Live Stream features of the app).

This app features Nielsen’s proprietary measurement software, which will allow you to contribute to market research, like Nielsen’s TV Ratings. Please see www.nielsen.com/digitalprivacy for more information.

*Transfer functionality requires high-speed internet connection to a Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 DVR. Your mobile device must be connected to the same home network as the Hopper2 or Hopper 3 to transfer a recording and you must maintain an active DISH account to view transferred recordings. Select recordings are not available to transfer due to programming restrictions. Sling Adapter functionality is not supported.

The developers responded! 😊

Ok.... I’ve been with DISH for 10+ years. I have given 5-star ratings for most versions of the app, including up to the Fall of 2019. Then the developers re-designed the app and it performed absolutely horribly (no sugar-coating it- it was BAD!). This occurred for a few versions after that. They even took away the fast-forward “skip” button.

Ok, this last version fixed most of the issues. There still is the design issue with the location of control buttons and bugginess at times with the operation of the app, but due to their efforts (including the restoration of the “skip” forward button), I’ve revised my 1-star rating to a 4-star. I consider a 5-star near-perfection. If they relocate the control buttons, make them larger, and get input from users in advance (or use the program a while themselves before releasing it), they'll get my 5-star rating.

I really like the very clear picture that we get with dish and enjoy dish anywhere, great when traveling; however, I’m very disappointed that we are not getting one of our local stations, and now we are not getting Cinemax or HBO, when we signed up with dish a lot of our decision was because we could get all the local stations, I understand about contract negotiations between dish and our local abc station, but it is just about the last straw not getting both Cinemax, hbo and the local abc station, seems to me that dish has broken their contract with me by not providing what I signed up for, being disabled the hbo and Cinemax was our main form of entertainment, and the local abc affiliate carried quite a few on the college football game I wanted to watch, I think dish should bite the bullet and pay the networks and provide we consumers what we signed up to receive, it’s not our fault that it is going to cost dish more money, they should have to honor the contract that we, the consumers, wanted to watch, I know that there are options and have started to check into them to replace dish, not my first choice, just want what I signed up to receive

Dish is better than Direct TV

I had Direct tv since 2004. At that time it surpassed Pine Tree cable and Dish Satellite at that time so I joined Direct Tv at that time. I asked neighbors about who to use for TV Cell phone etc , the answer was Direct tv and Cellular One. I’ve had both for a long time. Ever since AT&T company bought out Directv , I guess they think there so BIG the little people don’t matter. To start with they set appointments and come late and don’t care and say we are here now. I had three appointments and they were late all three times. No big deal to them.I have a lot more than this to share, but will do it on there site. Dish has come a long way. There customer service seems great. So far. I’ve only been with you for a Month. That’s why only for stars, so far. So keep up the great work.
Mean what you say and say what you mean. Don’t be a Driectv. I’m sure you will earn your fifth star. The only thing wrong is my Service tech. Was great explained everything and when I went to do the survey it had timed out. I forgot so I dropped it to three stars. I’m still wanting to do the survey still it’s only fair for him to enable to complete it. Sorry for the book. Keep up the good work. Mickey
