Oncore is a new, teacher-created classroom management system that helps teachers create learning environments that are fair, focused, and feedback rich. Oncore doesn’t just track behavior, it tracks learning, and it integrates seamlessly within a teacher’s existing workflow, saving teachers hours of planning time while reducing their paper load. By using the seating chart as the classroom interface, Oncore helps teachers collect color-coded, one-touch data on student learning, integrating formative assessment and feedback into their daily practice. Oncore focuses any K-12 classroom on mastery learning by helping teachers engage all students, check for understanding, create collaborative groups and communicate learning and behavior progress to parents. Unique to Oncore is its integration of Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Really useful; could be indispensable with a few additions

This app is great for tracking standards mastery, randomization, and taking roll. A few fixes and additions would make this indispensable in the classroom:Email notifications need way more information than a simple icon.A web portal would be a great way to access a student's history The ability to color-code or add symbols to a student's info would be helpful for IEPs, 504s, etcAbility to access class roll records, or any records, online or even on app. Ability to generate PDFs of various reports.I know this app will only get better with each update. I look forward to seeing what comes next!

First bad sign was that their tutorial didn’t work or display properly. I found numerous misspellings throughout that were just annoying. There was no way to designate a combo class, so I couldn’t input two different student grade levels and sort on that. I was forced to enter a last name in the student database even if I didn’t want to. When it was time to make a seating chart, there weren’t enough spaces across so I could not show my current seating configuration of eight small groups in two rows. You get what you pay for.

Trust me--the few bucks you spend on this app will pay better dividends to you and your students than $100 spent on the latest "educational technology" gizmo fad. I have taught for 20 years, and this app has revolutionized the way I interact with my students and monitor their learning. I can track and evaluate my interactions with each student in real-time, simply and seamlessly within lessons, so that every student gets the one-on-feedback they need, and the randomizing algorithm ensures that I am calling on all students with equity. It also helps me target instruction to where students' skills and understanding are most weak. In essence, it forces me to do what good teachers want to do, which is get to know each student and give them all the attention they deserve. Also, the fact that I have a date/time-stamped record of every interaction is invaluable in my assessment of participation grades, as well as in parent-teacher conferences. And the feature that allows you to send an e-mail report to parents within moments of recording a positive or negative behavior in class is, dare-I-say, wickedly useful in keeping parents appraised of what their child is up to. Its "Grouping" feature allows you to assign kids to groups of any size instantaneously based on whatever criteria you choose, and it make the grading amazingly fast and simple. I used to balk at assigning kids to collaborative groups--now I do it regularly.No piece of educational technology is a panacea, and there are features that could/will no doubt be added to this app, but in terms of improving pedagogy, I've found nothing that holds a candle to it, and I can't wait to see what features will be added in subsequent versions.
