What to expect during your appointment?

After booking your appointment, you’ll be connected to a licensed veterinarian or veterinary technician via video chat.

Similar to an in-person appointment, the licensed veterinarian will ask you questions about your pet and their health history. They may also want to see your pet up-close to better examine them and gather more information about a tentative diagnosis.

The vet will let you know what the next steps are (such as booking an in-person appointment, sending you a prescription, how to treat at home, etc.)

Great service, but app is buggy

Amazing service, but the app is buggy. My last two video sessions didn’t initiate successfully until the third or fourth attempt. Beyond that the app doesn’t provide an itemized receipt which is needed for insurance. It just has dollar amount. There’s no way to download notes within the app, so you have to contact Customer Support, but they’re very responsive. My vet also prescribed medication, but there’s an issue with the shopping cart in the app. Initially, it wouldn’t allow me to add the medication, when I exited out and went back in the medication was in my cart, but it was forcing me to do the most expensive shipping option, so I had to exit back out and then the right shipping option appeared. Also, no Apple Pay. These issues have a dramatic impact on the overall experience. The app feels a little underbaked and definitely needs more testing.

Great experience but important note to the developers

So I want to say I had a great experience with the app. Vet was awesome. Answered all my questions very empathetic and in my state was able to perscribe medicine. However, one thing developers need to look into. I was invited to join the call 10 minutes before the appointment so I did. At that moment it started counting down my time. The vet arrived on time but because the app asked me to join 10 minutes earlier it spent those 10 minutes of my 40 minute call before the scheduled time and the vet arrived. The app should not start counting down your minutes just because you accepted the alert to join the appointment early.

Vetster appointments are booked for 30 minute time slots. Joining your appointment early won't cut into your time with your Vetster vet! The notification to join early is simply meant to allow you some extra time to get set up and ensure that your microphone and camera are working properly prior to your appointment. Didn’t have the US as an option

I tried to use Vetster for my guinea pig who has an eye injury because I’m on vacation in Morocco and can’t take him myself. My neighbor is pet sitting for me and can’t drive him to the vet. A friend recommended Vetster to me so I could talk to a vet online while abroad. My friend is Canadian and I’m American. Vetster is supposed to work for the US, Canada, and the UK. I tried to use the website but was unable to get past the part that said “what are your concerns” it didn’t let me select anything or progress any further. I tried downloading the app to see if it would work better. Everything looked ok until I had to enter my location in. I put in my address and tried to select my region. The only options it had were England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales with no way to change it to the US. I’m just very frustrated that Vetster is available to Americans, yet it only showed the UK with no way to change it. Now I have to buy a Moroccan SIM card and hope that my neighbor can take my guinea pig to the vet.
