I used to always be the mom who turned the video on and filmed a bunch of wasted minutes hoping that my son or daughter would get the ball and do something awesome (so I can send to grandparents), only to be flustered that I'm filming too long and nothing has happened and just turn it off, and then to my dismay have something great happen seconds later and miss it. So lame. Thankfully that is no longer an issue with this app. It is so convenient to be able to just leave it on until that great moment happens and I know for sure it is captured. And not only that- there is no editing needed!! I also have put my phone on a tripod and just watched the game without even looking at my camera, and still could capture the moments I wanted by just pressed a button really quick when something great happened. I also have been able to capture some things I didn’t even intend to capture because I know the film is running and I want to watch it later. Like when I think a bad call was made in a sporting event (so I can review it myself later and feel vindicated) or when something funny or unusual happens that I want to watch it over. This app is just so useful and fun! I use it every time I get out my video camera these days (my kids are constantly providing great opportunities to get good footage with this app). And it all saves to the same place as other videos on my phone with no hassle. So easy to use and so perfect! Love it!!

This is SO nice! All the time I’m trying to capture that one scene or moment and then it doesn’t turn out, so I have to go back out and delete it and then go back to my camera again, this way-for a only a buck-I can be filming without it saving to my device and then when that moment happens I can hit the last 15, 30 seconds and so on and now I have only the highlights I need on my phone. I thought I would use it mainly for sports but I just used it at a Halloween parade of my kids. What a simple and great tool to have, so grateful to have it and will be using it all the time now!! I also love that I can still take pictures as well from it! A REALLY cool app!!

Finally something like this was created! Let me give you an example. Last night my sister in law and her daughter had my 6 year old boy up on their hands like a cheerleader! It was funny and my boy was giggling. I started recording with Only Highlights. As I went a long if I thought the last 15 seconds were funny, I’d press the button and only the last 15 seconds were sent to me camera roll while the app kept on recoding. Another 30 seconds was funny so I sent that over. All in all I recorded like 4 minutes of footage but only sent to my roll about 45 seconds of..... only highlights! It was awesome!

This app is extremely simple and easy to use. It does well what it says it does. However, I have used it for a week or two, and noticed that the video quality is not as well as the default camera app. It’s heavily compressed and you can clearly see some artifacts from the compression. That’s fine for casual use, but I would not use the app for precious moments like your baby’s first steps. The quality is not good enough for once-in-a-lifetime moments.Update: there is a new issue after the latest update. This app now shoots only vertical videos. This may be OK for some people, but it is a deal breaker for the rest of us.
