Description

Operation Supplement Safety (OPSS) is a joint military initiative between the Human Performance Resource Center and the Department of Defense (DoD) to educate service members and retirees, their family members, leaders, healthcare providers, and DoD clinicians about dietary supplements and how to choose them wisely.

Get information and ratings on dietary supplements, herbal products, vitamins, minerals, homeopathic products, complementary alternative medicines, alternative treatments (e.g., acupuncture), traditional Chinese medicine products, and other natural remedies. OPSS has teamed up with Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database to provide you with multiple databases and interactive features including an Effectiveness Checker, Nutrient Depletion Checker, Interaction Checker, and Natural Medicines Brand Evidence-based Ratings (NMBER)®.

Visit www.naturaldatabaseconsumer.com/dodndc and use your valid .mil email address to sign up for your free account. You can then use those passcodes to sign in to the full version of this app.

Access to this app gives you unbiased, evidence-based Safety and Effectiveness Ratings on any natural ingredient, commercially available product, or alternative treatment modality. Quickly identify potentially harmful drug/herb interactions, check for nutrients within the body that may be depleted by prescription medications, find ingredients with known Effectiveness ratings by condition or disease state, and much more.

The online Database is updated every business day. You get up-to-date reviews and more in the App without the need for an Internet connection.

The OPSS & ND App gives you:
- Dietary Supplement Safety and Effectiveness ratings.
- Interaction ratings between drugs and natural medicines, known Adverse Reactions.
- Effectiveness ratings for natural medicines by medical condition, and more.
- Answers anytime, anywhere, even without an Internet connection.

Love the intent

I love the intent of the app. It has several common supplements that you can check to keep our people safe. However, the contact us section is blank (which is why I’m writing here) and I’m pretty sure about a year ago there was a barcode feature that is no longer available. Bring that back. Our younger generation need to be able to search quick and get results. The search feature is missing the mark on most supplements—basically have to search each ingredient to make sure you’re good.
