Operation World (OW), the definitive global prayer handbook, has been used by more than a million Christians to pray for the nations. Now as a mobile app you can receive reminders to pray for the “country of the day,” research statistics on each country and read the in-depth prayer request and praise reports given for each country of the world. OW is widely regarded as the definitive volume of prayer information about the world and is the recipient of the ECPA Gold Medallion Award for Excellence in Evangelical Christian Literature. OW has had seven editions published. The most recent is from 2010, which is a complete update of the 21st century edition, released in 2001. The previous edition was published in 1993. The original edition was produced in 1964, from South Africa, and was only 32 pages of basic information about 30 countries. OW has been translated into several other languages: German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Korean, Chinese, Russian, and in part into Indonesian and Italian. The cumulative number of copies printed in all languages exceeds 2 million. The 7th edition was released in October of 2010. OW listed in Christianity Today's The Top 50 Books That Have Shaped Evangelicals, Landmark titles that changed the way we think, talk, witness, worship, and live.

Update: I have found that if I daily go to the app’s settings and click to open my phone’s notification settings, it picks up the choice I have made and the next day, I get my reminder to read and pray. I appreciate this app and the work that goes into keeping it updated. I like that information is obtained from people who are working in the area or who are knowledgeable. It is a helpful tool for praying intentionally. Sadly, my app often doesn’t notify me. I have to remember to to open it. Also sadly, my mind doesn’t do a great job either, so I often miss days.

I am so glad to have this wonderful resource to help me pray for the nations. I have the Operation World book but am grateful for the shorter nation summaries in the app. Thank you to the developer!However, I’d like to ask for one change. It’s so distracting to have the graphics constantly moving, cycling through. I would love for them to be static and have the freedom to swipe through them as I wish. Should be easy to do!Thank you and God bless you for the massive amount of work you’ve done on this project. It is an amazing resource and gift to the body of Christ!

Thank you for your awesome review! In regards to your suggestion, if you are running the latest version of the app, you will see a blue arrow pointing up under the images. Tap it, and the slideshow will disappear. Tap it again, and it will appear.

Informative prayer app

It gives a concise presentation of the nation to pray for - the people, statistics, sociopolitical situation and prayer needs. The one thing I don’t like is the continually changing images at the top of the screen. These are very distracting when reading the text below them. One cycle through the three images would be enough, with the option to manually swipe through them as desired.

Informative and concise prayer app

Great information and prayer points are available for every country. This app not only has great content but works well. I’ve been using the app since January and haven’t experienced any bugs or freezes. I do have some questions about how up to date all of the information is, but world situations can change quickly.
