Otherwise your Mac will be storing information in one place and your iPad/iPhone will be storing the information in another, breaking the sync.

Compatible combinations are:

Macs running Mavericks will sync with iPads/iPhones running iOS 7
Macs running Yosemite will sync with iPads/iPhones running iOS 8

Replaced Franklin Planner - Doesn't sync between devices

I love the functionality of this program and the excellent tech support that I've received. Because it is not possible to synch between devices, my iPad has become my new, stand-alone "Frankly Planner". I can't see anything I enter on my iPad on any other device. No synching between devices is not convenient and frustrating but, it's also not a compelling reason for me to abandon the app.

I can and do back up to iTunes. In fact, it is possible to move data from one device to another using iTunes. You simply use the "save as feature" in iTunes to save the most recent backup file to your hard drive immediately after the synch is complete. You then sync your other device and "add" the backup file to the back up file you saved previously and synch again. This copies the data that you backed up on one device to your other device. You then "import" the backup file on the other device after the synch. is complete.

If this program was to synch between devices like "Evernote" is able to do quite reliably, I'd give it 10 stars!

Closest to a Franklin App than Any Other

I am also a long time Franklin addict, and had never been even remotely satisfied with any planner app. I initially downloaded the free version, was pleasantly surprised, and after a couple weeks of research and continued use I went for it and bought the full version, fully expecting to regret it and consider it a waste of money. I have been proven wrong and have continued to use the app for almost an entire year - I have never before actually relied and continually used an online planner before, I have always return it to pen and paper and Franklin. Ironically Franklin has come to disappoint me in recent years with their limited selection compared to 10 years ago and now that I am hooked on Opus there is no way I would go back to a Franklin. There are a few issues with Opus that I wish were better: the compass feature and goal planning leave much to be desired, and for some reason I am unable to import or even manually add contacts, but this is easy to compensate for with standard iPad and iPhone apps. Overall I think this app has kept me better organized then Franklin ever did plus I am glad to be happy with something digital rather then stuck on paper. Haters are just haters!

1/2 love it!

On my iPad this is awesome! Love it, use it all the time. As a Franklin Covey long time user - this is a great mobile planner. However, getting it to sync on the iPhone is useless & frustrating. When I got the phone to have the right info it still had to manually updated every time I changed the iPad- even days later, nothing new on the iPad showed up on the phone. The tutorial on You Tube is for Mac & is mute- more useless. The directions Support sent didn't make sense- I have had 4 other people trying to figure this out- 2 of them IT guys. I guess I have to take my iPad with me wherever I go & the ph app is nothing but a calendar. That really isn't what I wanted.
