Needs Some Work... But Overall Impressed...
I spent about $900 on the product. Got the light show box, musical tree show, 2 snowflake walkway lights, 6 C9 light strings, and the hub. Everything looks amazing and does stayed synced up. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it’s been thru rain, wind, and snow and they’ve held up. The only problem I’ve had was the glitches with the hub. Everybody that writes a post is right about the glitches they are having with the hub. I’ve set everything on the hub timer. Once or twice a week they will not turn on or turn off at the proper times. Also, the syncing to music is glitchy. For this I can not give a 5 star rating. The product is excellent, but the hub needs more work. I suggest people purchase the product and than decide if it’s right for you. Lowes has a 90 day return policy. I’m cautious about reviews that’s why I always try things out for myself.
Has the potential to be great
So I went ahead and shelled out the $$ for these lights. The lights and speakers are top quality. They stand up to the Rain and have many color options. They should definitely reimburse people for the old hubs and make a newer more powerful one that sets up without any glitches. I too have had issues connecting to the hub. As far as the app, when choosing a custom color you should be able to choose multiple colors instead of just one. Also it would be excellent if you could add more song options, even if they were for purchase I’m sure plenty of people would buy them. Overall for being the first year these are out the are impressive hopefully they add more features and fix the hub issues.
I bought around $1000 worth of these lights. They are really cool when they work. Like so many others have said, the hub has HORRIBLE range on it. I thought when I saw the complaints on the hub range people were just talking about setups in really big yards or something. Nope! I have some devices that got just 15-20 feet away and lost connection.
I had to put the hub outside just to connect to the lights. If I left it inside and a couple stands of lights connected.
I wish they would improve hub range or allow for multiple hubs that create a mesh network improve coverage. Or even allow the box attached to each strand to act as a repeater. Or offer repeaters. Anything to improve range! I would gladly pay 3x the price for the hub if they made a better one with better range. I paid so much for these lights and now I have to return some because the distance is too much for them.
