Terrible App Support

The developer can’t be bothered to answer support request. I have repeatedly submitted support request both through the app itself and the Facesmash site.
The issue I’m having is periodic invalid IP errors on app launch and periodic app freezes.
I have read that other users are having the same issues.
If the developer has passed away and the app is in a zombie state, it would be nice to know.
I would certainly send flowers if he has passed......,

Yes, best so far

For years, I have resisted this app because it is the most expensive ($5) of the bunch and Onkytroller was satisfactory, the official Onkyo apps are nearly useless. Well O-Remote is much better. The functional controls, even the internet radio & DLNA, are all directly available from the main screen!

It offers nearly all the functions available on the regular remote from anywhere you have the WiFi connection and it reconnects almost instantly when the phone screen no longer shows the app — the official app takes long seconds every single time the screen shuts off or is switched to any other app.

Having the ability to control my AV deck and the different zones via my phone from anywhere within my WiFi range is awesome.

UPDATE 01 Feb 2019: I figured out the disconnection issue, it’s not the app, it’s the AV deck losing its connection. Solution is to unplug the deck for 10 seconds and then restart it. It will re-initialize the Ethernet connection & and the App will work great again.

Best Onkyo App so Far

I have tried most of them and ORemote is my favorite. Recently Onkyo's own app has improved quite a bit. However ORemote gives a lot more control over you receiver which others don't. The interface is quite good. One feature I would request is highlight current setting in the pop up menu so you know what it's set to. Also it works with the 2016 RZ series.
Otherwise very happy with app.
