Description
Orlando Explorer Mobile is the mobile document viewer of the Orlando Suite for Tech Pubs Document Management System.
The app is designed for airlines, MROs and aircraft manufacturers.
It can be used on ground (e.g. Maintenance / Tech Ops manuals, training, briefing, …) and on board (EFB document library, Cabin Crew document viewer, …) either online or offline.
Orlando Explorer Mobile supports XML like:
- Airbus, ATR and Boeing Flight Ops manuals (FCOM, AFM, QRH, MEL/DDG, FCTM, CCOM, …)
- Airbus and Boeing Maintenance manuals (AMM, IPC, TSM, Wiring Manuals, …)
- Airline manuals (OM-A, OM-B, OM-C, GOM, IFM, …)
as well as any PDF document.
The mobile library content is managed from the Orlando Suite for Tech Pubs Mobile Content Management service.
Orlando Explorer Mobile main features:
- Enroll the app to the Orlando Suite for Tech Pubs,
- View the manuals made available by the administrator online or download them for offline access,
- Open manuals in multiple tabs,
- Filter the manuals per metadata tags and per applicability,
- View effective and scheduled publications side by side in a split view,
- Acknowledge the read of new publications

Version 5.0.0
New features:
- Highlight and annotations
- User can now highlight and annotate HTML manual content
- Highlights and annotations are synchronized across the different mobile devices of the user
- Highlights are persisted across revisions if the module they are attached to are still present and not revised in the new revision of the manual
- Limitation: highlights are currently persisted only between two consecutive revisions. If the user has skipped one or several revisions, the highlights are lost
- User can reposition previously created highlights when the module is revised (after receiving a new revision)
Improvements and fixes:
- Adding a confirmation popup prior to submitting the read acknowledgement.
- Popup asking the following question: “Have you reviewed the changes showed on the highlights page before submitting?”
- Usage of flash memory during the installation process of mobile packages has been improved, preventing the app to crash
- Message feature
- Message administrators can now specify what type of message shall trigger iOS system notifications (e.g. Safety tagged messages only).
- Fix of a bug that was causing some download to be paused and not resumable after the app what moved to background
