Almost

It's lovely to see the waveform of audio from my Mac passed through an app like BlackHole to Oscilloppoi. It appears to be an "either or" proposition. Unable to listen to the signal being analyzed. Vertical scale seems limited for audio input and display appear vertically limited and is quite small for a 5K display.

Developer Response ,

Normally, it can't be input from the built-in speakers (headphone port). But, it is possible if you use virtual audio device. For example, BlackHole - https://existential.audio/blackhole/
Set "BlackHole" for both "Output" in the System Preferences and "Input" in the Osciloppoi Preferences. (Mac -> BlackHole -> Oscilloppoi)

[UPDATE 04/24/2022:]
Is the output of BlackHole maximum? Please confirm the System Preferences > Sound > Output.
How about using Loopback($99+)? It has “Monitor audio through” option. - https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/

Highly functional and useful tool..!

I am impressed by how useful this app is, if your needs are simply for basic audio frequency waveform display, this may be all the scope you need.

I did have a few crashes and the “Support” link on this page has no contact information for the company. I’d like to be able to inform them about the minor issues I’ve encountered.

Really great app!

I needed a way to display waveforms generated by synthesizers for a class I’m teaching. This app saves me the trouble of hauling my aging Oscilloscope to class each week. It accurately displays waveforms, it’s responsive, and it works great with signals input from my audio interface.
