All data stored by OTP Auth is stored using strong AES-256 encryption. This applies for all data. In particular, for both locally stored data as well as data stored in the iCloud Drive (when iCloud Sync is enabled). The password for those files never leaves your device such that noone but you can read your data.
OTP Auth does not collect information about you or send them anywhere. You won't be asked to allow access to your contacts or your location. And most important: OTP Auth does not connect to the internet and will not send your accounts to someone else! (Unless you enable iCloud sync where an AES-256 encrypted copy of your accounts is stored in your iCloud Drive. The password for that copy will never leave your phone.)

Glad to see the OS jump
This is by far my favorite 2FA app on iPhone and iPad. Glad to see the jump to mac. It's unfortunate that Catalyst doesn't allow you to bring the Notification Center and Safari extensions to macOS. I'm running both the old mac version and the new one side-by-side and I get the best of both worlds (so I still have the extensions but can manage my accounts on my mac). If the technical limitation is lifted and these extensions can be brought over in the Catalyst app it's 5-stars!
App works, but iCloud syncing doesn't
The app itself works. I love the folder setup, which is something more unique on 2FA apps. But the syncing doesn't work as I'd expect... or really at all.
I've purchased the macOS version and installed it, and it correctly syncs to my iCloud and I can delete everything and restore from iCloud again. I also installed the iOS version on my phone, again, it syncs to iCloud and I can restore from the cloud. However, when I make a change on one device, it never seems to propagate to my other device(s). I've double checked that I have iCloud turned on each device with OTP Auth allowed to access iCloud on each device.
This is the huge reason I was willing to pay for the app in the first place, to support the developer of an app that doesn't collect any data, works, and supports iCloud syncing. I'm pretty disappointed.
Somewhat
It does calculate your OTP correctly.
I do not like that it is compulsory to set a password to access this app. In some cases (like my office computer) websites are shoving OTP down my throat and I don't care about the security. Requiring a password here does not make me more secure because my OTP initialization key is already stored in my password file right next to my password anyway.
Also the widget shown in the app screenshot is not compatible with macOS Big Sur's widgets screen.
