Description

It's like having a yeshiva in your pocket!

The OU Torah app provides instant access to the world of Torah made available by the Orthodox Union on OUtorah.org (http://outorah.org/). With a single click, users can follow along with the OU’s many and varied daily learning programs, including Daf Yomi, Nach Yomi, Mishna Yomit, and Mishnah Brurah Yomi, as well as many insightful and thought-provoking shiurim on each week’s Torah portion.

Delving deeper, users will discover many more noteworthy features, ranging from Nach (Bible) to Tefillah (prayer) and from Machshava (Jewish thought) to Halacha (Jewish law). Series on Mishlei, Yoreh Deah, Chovos HaLevavos, Shev Shmaysa, Sefer HaMitzvos, The 19 Letters, and Teshuvos Rebbe Akiva Eiger are just the start of the broad-reaching content the OU Torah app brings to you.

Among the many prominent speakers and authors on OU Torah: Rabbi Shalom Rosner, Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Rabbi Moshe Elefant, Rav Avraham Chaim Feuer, Rav Chaim Ilson, Rav Aharon Kahn, Rabbi Jack Abramowitz, Rabbi Zvi Sobolofsky, Rabbi Dr. Asher Meir (The Jewish
Ethicist), Mrs. Shira Smiles, Rabbi Immanuel Bernstein, and many, many more.

The OU Torah app provides new ways to enjoy all your favorite series. You can read divrei Torah and listen to shiurim on your phone or mobile device; you can download content to review later; you can set up your own personal playlists to enjoy things as you like best.

Decent

The good:
1. A large and well rounded selection.
2. Downloadable content.
3. Able to create playlists.

The not so good:
1. If you leave the app for 2 minutes it restarts and you have to look for what you were listening to.
2. It won't continue playing after a phone call, which usually also means that you have to search for what you were listening to (as was pointed out above).
3. Should have a '30 second rewind' and a '30 second forward' button so there no need to try and scroll exactly a certain amount of time in either direction.
4. Sometimes it loses your place so it might restart 15 behind.

I absolutely love this app

I absolutely love this app but it freezes all the time and it shuts down right in the middle of a lesson. It definitely needs an update for bugs. A wish that it would stop freezing that I was able to listen to my old downloaded classes I wish that this app was more flawless please please please update this app for users.
It’s a great concept and I have my friends who share my frustration. This would be an amazing way to keep up with torah learning if you didn’t spend and hour trying to re open and go back to what your listening to every five seconds. If i try to rewind something it shuts down and I can’t listen on my phone because the app automatically opens if I’m I go to your website so it’s a major frustration.

New Version Highly Buggy

While the old version had some bugs. The new one doesn’t let me watch shuirm and has to “restart” when this happens. It also will only let me attempt to download some shuirim as videos, not as audio only. Hope these problems get fixed soon as I think if the developers push an update it should be better than the older version.
P. S. I would have sent this review as a feedback. But there’s no option to do that on the new app.
