so, i needed an app to create simple B&W line art for metal laser engraving. this app offers all the editing options needed to get line art as simple or detailed as i want it, with thick, dark lines, or intricate and fine ones. some of the modes offer the ability to add shading as well. i’ve been very impressed by the results, they usually go straight into ezcad2 without anything needed tweaked. white always comes out at a pure 0 on the greyscale, resulting in nice dark engravings backdropped by an untarnished metal surface. 5 stars, pro version is well worth it :)
this review seems a little specific, and it is, but if there’s anyone else out there who uses a laser engraver and wants good line art, well, this app is a good place to start!

Inexpensive and does exactly what it’s supposed to. I rarely write product reviews, but I was so happy with the level of control the app gives you over the effect, I had to. If you’re a comics/manga artist or illustrator, this app can really help with image prep if you want to transfer something.

So far, so good. The app froze once when I tried to save a project, requiring an app restart. I wished that there was a way to organize the work completed into folders with the app. I have to save my project/image and archive the jpeg outside the app. Also, after I have saved work, I have had need to bring it back into the workspace within the app. When I have done this the details of my previously saved work are modified, basically not the same as was originally saved it. That would be really disappointing if I had not immediately saved the saved version outside the app. Maybe these things will be improved in future updates.
