Glitchy

First it keeps requesting I log between 45-68 minutes.

Second it takes the app over a minute to initialize itself and open up.

Third. Some of the modules took me over s dozen attempts to download because it would stop downloading and lock up. I have fiber internet, so it’s not my end.

Fifth. Have an option for it to remember or stay logged in, and definitely add fingerprint sign in.

Sixth. Topics are shown complete if you open them, but have not completed them.

Seven. The eRDPml rules are hard to read on a tablet, and impossible to read on a phone. You’re much more likely to have a phone on a boat than an iPad. Just make a pop up window for the rules that apply.

Last I think there should be a download all button. What an absolute CF to have to select every single module, wait for the app to respond, select download, and hope it actually does. I’d much rather select all download, go have dinner, and come back to the app ready to go.

Update: final exam became unresponsive at question 49, had to kill the app and retake the exam.

Update: I tried to get back into the app today, and it would only bring up an all white screen. Tried four times. Turned off my phone, and restarted it to get it to work. Free apps work better than this $200 app.

Oh my goodness!!! There is so much video footage of one of your demonstration divers in the EANx course cruising around with a leaking regulator, and all the dive buddies signing “OK” at him. Blue dry suit, can’t miss it. 😆

Doesn’t work, very bad

As you try and complete the courses which have to be downloaded to be done. You’ll run into the app stopping working and not able to down load anything ever again. This is a ver bad app that seems like it should work in this day and age when I can literally write this review with limited internet but can’t watch little video and answer questions on the app. I would suggest going to a hotel or home with good Wi-Fi and use PADI’s website at least that thing doesn’t crash as much. But sadly that’s why I tried moving to the app. Either way this is annoying as PADI is an international organization with no digital leadership.

Developer Response ,

I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with accessing your course on the PADI Training app. Generally we do recommend downloading all the sections/materials you wish to access while connected to wi-fi as the videos etc. can take a while if you do not have a Wi-Fi connection. If you are doing so but still encountering that issue please feel free to contact me directly at webmaster@padi.com and I would be happy to assist further! Thank you so much in advance for the opportunity to assist. Sincerely, PADI Customer Relations Support Team

Zero Stars

Like many other reviewers here, I’ve found this app to be completely unusable. I’m on an iPhone 12 running iOS 14.4.2. After multiple attempts reopening and closing the app, I finally managed to get to the eLearning course only to be greeted with the error “Scorm Package is not ready” when I try to view or download anything. I’m technically literate and just could not get this working. If not for years of inertia, PADI would and should be out of business with SSI eating all its market share. What a disappointment.
