Workaround for app’s major flaw

One major flaw is that your phone needs to connect to the internet in order to display your PADI certifications—every time you want to display your certifications. Many of us dive in remote locations where we do not have internet access from our phone. The app should just store your certifications on your phone and update them as needed.

The workaround is to download your certifications to the app when you do have internet access and then take screenshots on your phone of the certifications you may need. Store these screenshots in an album in your Photos app.

PADI, please take note of the flaws with the app as described by users and make improvements. The app is a good thing and is convenient when it works but should be continuously improved upon until the flaws have been addressed.

Don't trust ecard (& PADI)

1. I ordered my ecard and it was in my app for over 2 years and everything is fine... And then I got my deep dive and PADI sent me an email to claim my ecard... So I did. I click refresh and now I have 0 cards. Like I lost card while PADI is trying to issue me a card.

2. When I was downloading my ecard.. in all of the email body it says ecard. But in the fine print it says a 30 day temporary eCard. What?! So if I didn't see that and later relied on that ecard to be there... I am screwed (just like how I am now PADI app lost the eCard)

I think the problem is deeper than the APP. In diving we rely on our gear, our knowledge and buddy... Because our lives depend on it. So to me diving you pay the money so things can be dependable.. this just proves that PADI not only doesn't have their system together but the fact that they would give you a "trial" ecard to then make you buy it is a really misleading move. I am going to stop getting any more PADI certs and go with another non profit.

Works but doesn’t do anything.

This app seems so necessary yet it’s completely useless. Can you look up your diving cert? No, you have to go in and buy an “e-card” at which point you can, but the app itself can’t do the lookup. You gotta go in. So it isn’t the functional dive certification wallet you want, though maybe it could be if you Put Another Dollar In. Meanwhile, the dive logging feature is useless - harder than paper, no support for automatic anything nor for looking anything up nor for digital instructor signatures... it just doesn’t do anything. Why not just keep em in Notes? The only useful features are the ones you’ll not use because it’s easier to do with google: the locator and course list. Great. Thanks a heap.
