Document Packets Turn separate scans into a navigable document packet. Choose saved PDFs, arrange sections and build a separate PDF with a cover, linked contents page and section bookmarks. 1. Open the library → Build document packet. Enter a packet title and add saved PDFs. 2. Edit section titles and use Edit to reorder or remove sections. 3. Build the packet and review the total page count and PDF preview. 4. Export the packet PDF or share an assembly receipt with input and output hashes. The source scans remain unchanged. 5. Changing the title or sections clears the frozen result. Build again to refresh it. Up to 16 documents, 200 source pages, 50 MB per input and 100 MB combined. Encrypted or copying-restricted PDFs are rejected. Existing text and page orientation are preserved, but image-only pages do not gain OCR from packet assembly. Newly generated contents links and section bookmarks target the packet; verify pre-existing source links separately. The packet is exported as a separate file and is not automatically added to the scan library.

Pagecrisp 1.2 adds document merge, image mode filters, tags, and sort. Merge documents. Tap the new merge icon (two overlapping pages) in the toolbar when you have two or more scans. Check each document you want to combine, drag to set the order, give it a title, and Pagecrisp builds a single new PDF with all OCR layers preserved. Source documents are kept intact. Image mode filters. The naming sheet now shows an IMAGE MODE picker: Color (original), Grayscale (desaturated), and Black & White (high-contrast via CoreImage). Black & White sharpens printed receipts and forms considerably - try it. Set a library-wide default in Settings -> Scanning -> Default image mode. Tag any document. Open a scan, tap the ... menu, and choose Tags. Type a tag name (Receipts, Lease, Medical, Tax 2025 - whatever makes sense) and tap Add. A scrollable chip strip above the home grid lets you tap one tag to show only those documents. Suggested tags from your other documents appear in the editor for quick reuse. Sort your library. Order documents by newest first, oldest first, title A-Z, title Z-A, or most pages from the toolbar sort menu. The choice persists across launches. Everything stays on your device. Pagecrisp 1.1 adds three features users asked for most. Search your scans. Tap the magnifying glass on the home screen to search across every document title and every line of recognized text — instantly, on-device, no index required. Edit pages in any document. Open a scan, tap the menu, and choose "Edit pages" to drag pages into a new order or swipe to delete a page you don't need. The PDF and OCR text rebuild automatically. Export recognized text as a .txt file. If a document has OCR text, "Export text (.txt)" appears in the menu. Tap it to get a plain-text file you can paste into Word, email, or a spreadsheet — no copy-paste juggling. Everything stays on your device. No subscriptions, no cloud, no account.
