Description
PanelMapper is a mobile application to easily design, label, save and print residential electrical panel layouts.
More than just a "design tool", PanelMapper maintains a database of user-created panels that can be re-loaded and edited - the number of panels is restricted only by the available storage space - and the database is quite compact. PanelMapper's intuitive interface makes it quick and easy to create a panel layout, complete with circuit labels, and then export PDFs or JPGs of the panel design.
Panelmapper's interface supports up to 80 breaker spaces, with main breaker location on top or bottom - or no main breaker at all (in the case of a sub-panel). PanelMapper provides a wide variety of breaker types: standard, ground-fault, arc-fault, or ground/arc fault combo - all available as double-breakers, single-breakers or half breakers (including split-amperage half breakers). A wide range of amperages is supplied, and there is an option to create custom amperage breakers for all types.
Ratings and Reviews
Great app to label electrical panels
As an electrician, I build and retrofit electrical panels on a daily basis. Many panels are not labeled or are labeled incorrectly. With PanelMapper I can easily label a panel in just a few minutes by touching my tablet. This app gives you a visual reference of the breakers installed and can show you arc fault and ground fault breakers as well as single pole and double pole breakers. To label a breaker, simply select a breaker with the appropriate amperage from the menu by touching it and touching the location you want it to occupy in the panel. Once you have installed the breaker, touch the space beside the breaker and a drop-down menu appears with the most common labels used, or you could select to customize and give your breaker a unique name. If I am installing a new panel I use PanelMapper to label the breakers as I am installing them. Once I am finished, I can save the panel for future reference and I can also print out a visual pdf to put on the inside of the panel door. The neat thing I like about PanelMapper is if a customer calls me inquiring about a breaker or their electrical panel, I can easily pull up a visual reference while I am talking to them on the phone. This is a great app and should have been marketed years ago. This app is not just good only for electricians but homeowners as well, especially if you have sub panels in your house or outbuilding. Why didn’t I think of this?
