Description

Explore the world-changing history on your doorstep and beyond with our Paralympic Heritage app. Learn more about the local and international history of the Paralympic Games, with its historic origins at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Discover the area where the Paralympic games got their start through two walking trails. The main trail is an interactive virtual trail which will take you from Elm Farm Road, past the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, ending at the National Spinal Injuries centre and includes audio, video and 3D model content.

The Stoke Mandeville accessible walk stretches between Aylesbury and Stoke Mandeville and can be followed by a series of physical signs. BuDS (Buckinghamshire Disability Service) developed this trail, along with the council, to ensure an accessible route for wheelchair users, allowing people in the area to celebrate the Paralympic heritage on their doorstep.
