It should not have guess work. What file types are supported for syncing? Beats me, doesn't say in the app.had to change to one stsr. drop box just doesn't work. wasting a lot of my time for nothing.I'm torn between one a d 5 stars because using the product is awsome but the drop box and file types just don't work like implied which is really annoying to figure out, but it's so useful as well. idk hopefully they bother it, with how active they are you'd think they're defunct.

I’ve used Parrot 2 for several years now. I’m an actor and i use it for auditions that are direct to camera, like host, spokesperson or newscaster roles. When the app is up to date and not bugged out from the latest iOS update it’s the best prosumer teleprompter on the market. $80 for a super portable setup that comes with the killer feature you don’t realize is a must-have if you’re new to teleprompting— a remote control. It is a system, though. The remote only works with the (free!) Parrot app which is awesome when it’s working properly and absolutely maddening when it isn’t. 2021 Q3-4 the developers updated the app monthly on average. As a result it is working well, I am happy again, and so it’s only fair to update my review from 1-star to 4. Have to leave a star off for the limited range of filter ring sizes that come with the system. (A filter ring is a device that screws onto the front of your camera and allows you to anchor the Parrot teleprompter hardware to the camera.) I had to buy a 43-52mm “Step-up Adapter Ring” (*make a note of that phrase, you may very well need it) to get the teleprompter anchored to my camcorder (Canon Vixia). My friend has a Canon DSLR and had to buy an adapter to fit her zoom lens. Seriously?! Of all the filter ring sizes you choose to include with the system you leave out the right size for Canon camcorders and DSLR lenses? What a small, crucial oversight. It’s like ordering IKEA furniture and after hours of confusion realizing there’s 1 piece missing that makes assembly impossible. Why would you set your customers up to fail like that?? This one frustrating lack of attention to detail aside, the Parrot is great and I recommend it.

I wholeheartedly believe in this company, as I purchased the Kickstarter Teleprompter and noticed that it came with this app, which was very convenient. I’m giving us a one star review due to the fact of the massive inconvenience that I have to go through by turning off and on my phone. Sometimes I need to edit something in the middle of recording, and when I stop to go back into the app to fix a word, the keyboard goes unavailable for all apps… at first, I thought it was a glitch so I looked for updates and sure enough nothing has changed.I know the company has worked very hard at developing their Teleprompter, but they need to put equal amount of work into their app. I do like the app and the convenience, especially with the remote however this is beyond annoying and I really hope that they get to fixing this as soon as possible with a nice update…I use my Teleprompter weekly for my real estate videos and my self motivational videos and time is money so Parrett needs to get their stuff together please so I can continue enjoying their products. I will update my review when this gets fixed.

This app saves the day! I was using the Desview app and constantly having to apologize to on-screen talent for formatting errors. It would randomly separate words, with no way to correct. I was also having issues with the iPhone keyboard disappearing when I’d use the app. IYKYK. I stumbled upon this app and was immediately impressed that it handled text and formatting flawlessly! However, the keyboard still disappeared once I started controlling the app with my Bluetooth remote. I eventually figured out the real issue. The iPhone thinks that the Bluetooth remote is an external keyboard, so it hides the on screen one. This is no fault of the app. Simply disable Bluetooth or turn off remote temporarily, when text edits are needed.
