Patterned is a unique puzzle game that immerses you in the beauty and joy of seamless, repeating patterns.
Each pattern begins as a sketch and you must use visual clues to reassemble its scrambled pieces. Piece by piece, each pattern begins to come alive in increasing amounts of color and structure. When the final piece is placed, the pattern fills the screen in full color.

In Patterned, your objective is to rebuild a scrambled pattern tile that is seamlessly repeating across the screen. As you place pieces you’ll quickly discover that the puzzle’s edges are repeated on the other side. Use these visual clues to help solve each puzzle!

Lovely and Cathartic

I tried this game thinking it would be one of those virtual painting apps. It is better than I imagined. The activity of completing each puzzle is very calming. While not every style is to my taste, the artwork is nonetheless beautiful. I especially enjoy the reveals once I finish each puzzle. The music is lovely. More than a few times, I found myself so caught up in the combination of art and music that I was brought to tears. Stirs up many memories. It's a lovely piece of work. The only part I find difficult or problematic is scrolling. The scrolling can be so slow, that it can take quite a long while to scroll through through the large number of puzzles - which is also terrific that there are so many puzzles. Perhaps it would help to make a more obvious way for users to select a puzzle at random or to search for a particular artist? Lastly, I strongly suggest adding some sort of hint text to each button icon. The icons arent obvious enough for me to know what I will see once I click on them. So, it can be a bit annoying when I must find my way back. The majority of the experience puts you in such a lovely state of calm that it's unfortunate that something like unclear navigation really spoils the overall "zen" of the app. What's the old Steve Krug UX rule? Don't make me think!

I really enjoy playing the game but it's frustrating to move back and forth between mac and mobile as syncing only seems to work in one direction. (iPad progress never syncs back to mac.)

The premise is simple, but a lot of the puzzles are kind of tricky due to their repeating patterned nature. However there are also some simpler ones tagged as good for kids. It has beautiful music but it's also a good accompaniment to watching a show or listening to a podcast or something. And when you finish one of the beautiful puzzles you can save it as a wallpaper (well, most of them — some are not available for that).

This game is perfect to play after work. The art, colors, and music all come together in harmony. I don't like the music progression because the music only plays as you play pieces. I set it to play the music continuously to enjoy more.
