A Free App to Help Lost Pets
Most lost pets don’t go far—that’s why it’s crucial to rally your community. Pawscout’s App makes it easy to enlist local pet lovers in the search, and our Bluetooth-enabled Tag (optional) alerts users when a lost pet is nearby. A detailed medical profile helps pet heroes care for your furry BFF until you can be reunited.

Connect with Pets Nearby
Build your local network of pet lovers with Pawscout’s social tools. Share photos, arrange walks and playdates, and alert neighbors to pet hazards or pet-friendly places. Invite friends and family to expand your “petwork.”

Track Walks and Set a Virtual Pet Leash
Pawscout, the Smarter Pet Tag (MSRP $19.99), works with our free App to keep tabs on your favorite furball. Track walks and monitor your pet’s activity levels. Or set an outdoor virtual pet leash while you’re outside, and receive alerts on your phone when your pet goes out of range.

It’s great but a bit annoying...

I got PawScout after the first time my kitten got out. He is special needs and really can’t be outside. About two weeks later he got out again and as I’m writing this review is still missing, I will get to that in a bit. I put out his picture and my contact information anywhere I could for free. Then I got a notification reading “Great news - somebody found (cats name). We passed your contact information along - the rescuer should be in contact soon.” I was so hopeful and it was the first time I felt that he could been safe while not being with me. I also checked the locator part and it said that he had come within 300 feet of me about 2 hours ago. So naturally I stopped everything and went looking for him where it said he was. I am aware that bluetooth based connections aren’t the most accurate but I felt quite hopeless when we couldn’t find him at that spot. I would like to clarify to future purchasers that this is not always the most accurate and while it is very helpful you must keep that in mind. Needless to say we didn’t find him then but I am hopeful that the rescuer will reach out to us tomorrow.

Good product, just somewhat slow response by CS.

I
looked a long time for a smart pet tag for our cat. This one was smaller than most, for a reasonable one time cost. Best of all, you can sign up Guardians to be able to check on your pet also, and the battery is replaceable.

The only down side is that if you have a problem it may take a while for customer service to get back to you. We found our tag did not post to the map when we were evacuating from hurricane Florence. It took 19 hours for their first response. The issue was esculated to engineering techs but after a couple of days we contacted then again to get them to finally respond. They then sent instructions which easily resolved the issue.
This delay is pretty normal I guess. It just was frustrating in our emergency situation and made me concerned that if our cat had been missing it would have been days before we could have tracked him down while we waited on the company to respond. Yet, at least they respond at all. I love that they email our cat by name.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for the feedback. This will only allow us to improve our service and we're sorry for our initial response time and providing a solution to your problem. Please don't hesitate to reach out to support@pawscout.com in the future.

This is a joke right?

Purchased 9 days ago. Got a low battery notification for the 2ND BATTERY. finally came to my senses and threw it away. In the OUTSIDE trash bin. My kitchen trash can would’ve been too good for it. The custom name plate will be going in the trash too but Id be willing to bet money that it won’t get delivered. I wasn’t expecting much for the suspiciously low price but I thought it would at least do everything the box said it could do. I’d compare it to a happy meal toy from
McDonald’s but at least happy meal toys don’t give you a false sense of security in those first few critical moments after loosing a pet. My house is 30’ from corner to corner and yet the collar says it’s out of range almost 100% of the time. The distance estimator jumps back and forth 20-70 feet at a time. Even when he’s asleep in his kennel at the foot of my bed. I’m starting to think it’s just a random number generator. I wish the packaging was more clear about the need for your neighbors to have the app on their phone and let it run constantly in the background. The closest person using this app is 26 miles away. I have nothing good to say about pawscout. Can’t wait to see what they do with all the required personal information I gave them. What a joke.

We're sorry to hear you were not delighted with Pawscout, but we'd like to give you a few pointers. First, Pawscout is NOT intended for indoor use. We presume that your pet is safe and sound indoors, and no product - Bluetooth, GPS, etc. - works well indoors. Also, we're not sure how you concluded that the closest person using the app is 26 miles away. For privacy reasons, we do not provide that kind of location information. We would love to explain more about how Pawscout works. Please reach out to us at support@pawscout.com.
