Please add TcB reads
Very helpful and easy to use
With the increasing need to check baby’s bili using TcB it would be nice to have the TcB tool and graph with this app
Developer Response ,
Thanks for your 5-star review, Ekgs! The only references I’m aware of come from Bhutani’s work which used total serum bilirubins, and TsB is still the “gold standard.” Serum bilirubins can vary by ±2 mg/dl, and my experience is transcutaneous bilirubins vary even more. Our nursery’s protocol is to verify a High Risk transcutaneous bilirubin with a serum bilirubin and then make treatment decisions based on that result. A High Risk interpretation on the Bhutani Risk Nomogram means there is a high risk that the next bilirubin value will be elevated. I enter TcB’s in the Bilirubin Calculator to get an idea of where we are now and then monitor rising levels, confirming with TsB as appropriate. Hope this helps and thanks for using Pedi QuikCalc!
