Pelican Flashlight 4+

If you have the 7070R, don’t download the Pelicans RALS app, it won’t work for you. Unfortunately this app doesn’t come up if you search “Pelican,” probably because it’s, “PelicanFlashlight,” without a space between the words. Anyway, the app connects to my flashlight and lets me create presets, but it doesn’t save them to my light after I close the app. I’m getting the confirmation flashes from my light, but when I close the app the light reverts back to the original, and when I reopen the app my presets are gone. I love the idea, but it seems it was rolled out too quickly, as there are some pretty big bugs. Hopefully they will patch it, because I like the light a lot. Used it on a K9 track tonight and on high it definitely didn’t last as long as advertised (like not even half as long), but I’m going to reserve judgment until I charge it fully and do a more focused test of the battery.

This app is the worst. A review from 2 years ago said this and they are still right. App doesn’t even connect. It’s terrible. Expected better.

I have had my pelican flashlight for several years and never was able to change the settings. For some reason I decided to try it tonight. Did not work. I read the other reviews and one mentioned the PELICAN RALS app. I downloaded it, ran it. It said it connected to my flashlight but it did not appear to do anything. I got out of the app and went to the PELICANFLASHLIGHT app and THIS time it connected and I was able to add 5 settings! First time ever! I have no idea why (or if, really), but this sequence worked for me.
