The Pesticide Recordkeeping App, or “PeRK”, is developed by the University of Nebraska-Extension Pesticide Safety Education Program. PeRK provides an easy, step-by-step data entry process to enter pesticide application data and meets all Nebraska recordkeeping laws for private and commercial/noncommercial pesticide applicators. Location is found by GPS or manually entered. Records are saved within the app and can be exported via email.

For ag/turf applications

This app has all the right bones, but was developed for farm or turf spraying. The units only allow for area-based rates. I treat landscape ornamentals, so it would be great to have the option for a "per gallon" rate. Also, the automatic rounding off can make records inaccurate. Legally, there's a huge difference between 1.5 and 2 ounces per gallon or what have you. The work around is list all the correct info in the Notes section of the record, but that is cumbersome.

Updating my review

I'm downgrading my review to 1 star. I've been using this app since last fall, and it was doing OK. As I mentioned in my previous review, I had to list a lot of information in the Notes section on each record in order to be in compliance with state record keeping regs. Well, this month, during my busy season, ALL the notes on EVERY record disappeared. Gone. Can't recover them. I exported all the records, then uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It still does not save notes. Also, during the export process, the emails won't send, so now I have 100+ emails sitting in my outbox. The app won't let you batch export either, so each record had to be individually sent. Good try Nebraska, but you need to fix your app.

So close, but just not very helpful

Being able to catalog sites and products is something I’ve been trying to find for a long time. I was so excited when I found this, but there are still so many quirks still that they outweigh the advantages. You can’t edit locations or products. Location descriptions are only partially visible on the section page making similar descriptions difficult to tell apart. The csv file requires editing cells when it’s opened after exporting. There are other issues, but I will stop there. very disappointing. SOO close to what I’ve been hoping for. It just isn’t what it could and needs to be.
