The home screen design is worse than before. We all love our pet but we don’t need a picture to take up the entire screen. I’m in the app for information, not to stare at a picture of my pet. The color scheme is nauseating.
Second, the feeding schedule, who decided this sort order? If you are going to change the way the schedule sorts from the way people normally view their schedules then please allow the consumer to sort according to their preferences. Chronological order should be default.
Why is the app unable to store my login credentials half the time? It also doesn’t utilize my iOS authentication methods.
That said, my newest smart feeder works better than the original. I’m happy with the device. The app is the only annoying part.
Good app and product
I’m reading the reviews and wondering ‘what the heck have I just done?’, making an expensive mistake. A week later, I’m breathing a sign of relief. The product works great. And the app must have gone thru a lot of updates because it’s quick and simple to connect to the feeder, connecting the feeder to Petnets server took seconds, and the app is easy to use. The one step that took the longest was the downloading of the app...a couple minutes. I get instant notifications when the pets are fed, and I can even give them a little extra, via the app, between meals if they want a snack.
One improvement I’d like to see is in the ‘pet information’ area. I have two pets, and the app won’t recognize that, and therefore it’s warning me that I’m over feeding my pet.
We have the original and the new version
We have the original feeder and it works great. Once we got another dog we wanted a second one for our other dog. We went to the website and discovered that there was a new version which we purchased. Once we received it we realized you can only control one device. Tech support was helpful and recommended we create a second account with my wife’s email which works ok. Once each feeder were connected and functioning we realized that the synchronization or timing of the feeding isn’t very accurate. One dog gets fed about 15 seconds before the other which seems minor but the lag makes the dog go crazy while the other dog is already eating. Tech support was not able to address this but I’m optimistic that they could resolve this in the future...
