PETSCII Game Collection 9+

It’s great seeing these old games again, and the on-screen reproduction is flawless. However, the game has a huge problem: the controls. They just plain don’t work. On the Space invaders game, for instance, you can move side to side, but no matter how much you hit that “Fire” key, your cannon will not fire. This is a problem across the board with all the games. The ship in the Galaga game won’t move no matter what you do with thise keys. Many of the on screen keys just don’t register being touched. That said, I’m really hoping that the developer fixes this issue and re-uploads this app. The games look great, and they really do hit the mark with the emulation. I played quite a few of these games on the Commodore PET at my middle school library back in the day, and I woukd love to have mobile versions of them. Please fix the controls! I’ll change my one star rating to a five star one if you do!

This is really cool. It’s a lot of fun, but some of the games seem a little tough to control…a bit touchy. I have not tried it with a keyboard, but I’m hoping that makes it a little easier to control. I know it’s not keeping with the theme, but game controller support would be nice. If you’re into retro a worthwhile download.
