Can your child recognize letter sounds, identify words that rhyme, and pronounce the digraphs? School Zone's Phonics Made Easy Flash Action has been developed to help children sharpen important phonics skills for reading success. Children will explore beginning and ending letter sounds, distinguish between long and short vowel sounds, pinpoint the rhyming families, work with letter blends, and more. The app's audio-rich environment makes phonic skills much easier to learn when children can hear the letter sounds while solving the exercises. Positive performance is rewarded with four unique play areas where kids can create their own scenes using colors, animation, music, and special effects. The easy-to-follow directions, upbeat music, and simple kid-friendly design allow children to work independently while they practice following directions, listening, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and creativity. School Zone's apps are all about integrating fun and learning, making Phonics Made Easy Flash Action a perfect companion to your child's educational journey. School Zone Publishing Company has been creating children's educational products for over 30 years, so you can trust that School Zone's apps will pack a learning punch. Go ahead, give your child a healthy dose of learning.

Phonics Made Easy
Need to simplifiy in order to truly engage their target audience. It is a little too complicated. They need to eliminate the "ok" button on the activities--a 3 year old does not understand the concept of having to "confirm" their selections. Also--the "draw a line to the cooresponding image" concept is not a realistic expectation for their target audience...they must come up with an alternative to line drawing--a 3 year old is not realistically capable of holding down the mose button on a lap top while simutaniously dragging to a coorespondin image. Overall the images are engaging and most of the concepts are good--I do wish that you could choose to do the same activity over and over--currently, the game alternates between varying activities...
It's ok--but needs some work.
Not worth the cost
My daughter has been struggling with phonics and I decided to get her an interactive game that would help her. This educational game does not have the capabilities to monitor progress, therefore there is no telling if she is actually learning the material. Also, as other reviews mentioned, the "draw a line the the corresponding image" feature (and many others) are not user friendly for children. I am truley disappointed in this app.
Great Learning Aid!
My son just turned five and is currently in Kindergarten. He and I worked on much of the information explored on this application over the summer, after Pre-K, but I purchased this particular app to reinforce what he'd already learned. My son really enjoys computer games and navigates the program efficiently, with very little assistance, if any at all. The bonus questions - which I love - he has trouble completing, so I help him with those. I try to keep every learning session fun and interesting by incorporating his favorite games, toys, and hobbies, so this app is a valued addition. The bright colors in this game are wonderful. The animated characters and score tracker keep him engaged. He gets very excited as the counter gets closer and closer to the star. I do wish there was a more versatile volume control for the music - you can turn it completely off - which I prefer, but my son really enjoys the music. When the narrator is speaking, it can be difficult to hear him clearly at times. So I only wish that I could simply adjust the volume of the music. I would recommend a mouse if you have a laptop, for ease of use. My son doesn't have any problems with the 'OK' botton. I acually appreciate that he has the opportunity to reevaluate and verify that his answers are correct before they are graded. The app is rated 4+, I believe this is an accurate assessment. My son and I have an agreement that anytime he wants to play a computer game, he must play either his School Zone Math or School Zone Phonics game first for 20 minutes, but he usually ends up playing for 30, or more! Fantastic!!
