Ratings and Reviews
The piano vs simply piano
So technically a while back when I was little my mother had purchased simply piano. It was excellent, free, and a perfect learning tool. The problem tho was that later on some songs costed money. Like what, we already payed to be able to have an account. Why do we need to buy premium. So I was like whatever I can still do some stuff. No! A few months later now everything costs money, I have to buy premium to be able to play. Very ridiculous. So this app it may not have lessons but it does teach you to play songs. It also just lets you play yourself. It’s not perfect but it is still a very good app. I recommend this app to people who would like to learn step by step and play freely. Plus, yes some settings do cost money but those are not needed. Other than that this app is a perfect learning tool. Enjoy!😁
Looks great, sounds pathetic.
The layout of the format looks visually appealing, but I feel that looks is not the point of a keyboard or piano, rather, it is sound quality, and I feel that this app simply did not execute the beauty of a real piano even on a conventional level. The depth and timbre was presented excusably well, but certain elements in playing notes, such as a rigid cutoff between repeated notes, has really left me feeling empty.
On second point, the fact that I have to pay for instruments other than just three seemingly random and generally unused ones is rather in-generous, as Apple’s GarageBand, which comes pre-installed and subscription-free, has literally hundreds of choices for different instruments, sound design elements, and even more than just keyboards, and they’re just for implication into their music development software. The fact that an app not even specifically meant for just keyboard playing on a phone is better than this subscription-hungry app is exasperating to me, and if I wanted to pay my own good money on something like this, I’d expect much more. For now, I’m deleting this app and continuing to use GarageBand. If you already have that app, please, don’t download this.
Developer Response ,
Thanks so much for the detailed feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. You're absolutely right that sound quality is central to a piano app, and it's something we’re actively working on improving along with expanding the instrument catalog. While we’re a smaller team and don’t aim to be a full DAW like GarageBand, our focus is on creating an enjoyable and expressive playing experience, especially for casual users. Still, it’s clear we didn’t meet your expectations here, and that’s important for us to learn from. If you ever decide to give the app another try, we’d love to hear how we’re doing then. Feel free to send us any suggestions on what would make the app more appealing to you at support@impalastudios.com! 😊
Very nice! I like it but please add this
I really like this app. I like how it shows you songs and it also lets you just free play. Something I would really like if you could add where it shows you more things than just songs, like how to read sheet music and stuff. Another thing that would make this app 10 times better is if you added MIDI support. I have my own piano and I think that it’s easier to muse the piano instead of tapping on a screen. Another thing is the way you’re supposed to time the notes on the songs. At first I thought you were supposed to tap the notes when the key lights up or when the note collided with the key, but it was actually wnen the note hits that little line above the keyboard. I didn’t really like this choice and I thought it was a bit hard to get used to so I think you should change that. But other than the problems this app has I think it is excellent. Have a nice day 🎹 🙂
Edit: something else that would be cool if if you would show how to play with both hands in the songs and not just the right hand parts.
