It’s never been easier to perform music, or to create your own sounds. Play solo or jam along with any song in your music library. Let your fingers fly!

To make Pianofly a great instrument, we made a great keyboard: an 88-key, multi-touch piano keyboard that you can scroll while you play. The keys are large enough so even big fingers can always hit the right note. Yet by scrolling, a melody can span many octaves. Use the bar along the bottom to scroll silently, or to hold the keyboard in place. A great way for DJs to add effects or improvise over their playlist or for students to practice a new song.

We’ve included 60 instruments to show you the variety of sounds you can create, but we hope you’ll learn from our examples and then create your own instruments to match your needs and your musical taste. Finish off your sounds with a custom icon using any image in your photo library.

Even if Pianofly is your first synthesizer, you can easily create and discover new sounds: drag sound waves to make them longer or shorter, drag from one node to another to link them, or double tap a node to shape it over time. Synth experts will love the control, clarity and stability of our synth. You adjust the sound directly: no knobs, switches or buttons. And it all happens live; edit every aspect of the sound while you play!

* 16-bit, CD quality, polyphonic, multitimbral FM synthesizer.
* Up to 3 nodes per instrument.

Sounds nice, but it needs serious additions

There is some false advertising? It claims that the app is multitimbral, but how do I play multiple presets at once? Also, there is no IAA, Audiobus, or AUv3 support. Besides that, the app sounds great, and it is fun to play around with.

Great Start

While I'm reading many reviews that all say that it sounds tinny or toy-like, it's very easy to edit the sounds to your liking. I agree that there should be some way to choose to save a preset or not, but I don't have much of a problem with that mainly because they give you many blank presets on the last two pages to mess around with. Filters would definately be nice, as well as LFOs, but the interface availible to edit is very intuitive and quite cool. The ADSR setting knobs are especially nice. The scrolling keyboard is OK, but what I would do to improve it is have two different modes acessible from a button: one mode where the touching only the bottom part with the octave indicators would scroll the screen and another mode that works the same way as it does now.

$1.99? Really? Seriously a steal. I'll be using this program a bunch I think for recording etc. I own nlog, the yudo vocoder, noise io, bebot, mini synth, etc etc. This one sounds very different and very good. Low latency and very playable, and it's very easy and fast to make great patches. If you are a fan of these other iphone synths, buy this. You won't be sorry.
To the devs, make a better sounding video showcasing the different presets. That fm piano sound is hell on earth to me and it almost scared me away from buying the app. Once you get into about page 3 of the presets, things get really cool. I'm looking forward to the development of this app, delay and stuff would be awesome but it's really great as is.

One thing I would recommend is a way to return to the preset pages without having to save the current sound you are working on in the edit window. As it is now, I see no way of getting out of the edit window without saving the sound, and possibly writing over a preset you may not want to write over.
