I’m about 90% sure this is T-Pain’s cat
This game is really cute and very entertaining, it’s your typical loosely physics based “aim shoot and destroy ” type game with a little twist in that you can throw multiple projectiles to hit targets multiple times. Overall it’s a adorably animated little time waster with cool music and the cat’s little meows are auto tuned which I find hysterical. I have no idea how long it takes to actually save Waffles but it’s an exciting adventure nonetheless.
*UPDATE* Wish they hadn’t changed Doc Block’s laugh with the newest update. It’s a bit much I mean the guy stole a small dog from a non verbal kid in a kitty onesie....hmm...ok that is pretty messed up if you put it that way but still it’s not like he’s trying to pull off some nefarious plot to destroy the entire world he doesn’t need a laugh that maniacal. Honestly the voice over guy is clearly trying way too hard to the point where he makes Doc Block seem like a campy B-movie villain where the zipper to his costume is always comically conspicuous. He was at least believable before just sounding like a robot, now I cringe anytime I lose a level or have to do a level where Doc Block messes with you because his laugh is just that cringey. I either mute or quit the game altogether just so I don’t have to hear it. Maybe it’s a really obscure nitpicky thing to remove a star for but I guess if it’s bad enough to make me avoid a game I was heretofore obsessed with it’s warranted.
Extremely Disappointing After Crossy Road
I normally don't do free mobile games as they all tend to follow the same pattern: get the player interested, allow them to get far enough in, then start introducing levels that are carefully crafted to be just barely unbeatable without cheats. If the level cannot be beaten without them, then to me, it breaks the game. And, of course, soon enough, if you'd like to keep playing, you're invited to whip out your wallet and pay for more cheats. I would have been happy to pay $10 for this game without the aggravation of levels that are clearly meant to be undefeatable without a crutch. When you've got levels with obstacles that double every round so that it becomes mathematically impossible to win with the material provided, it is undeniable what the goal is. Compared to Crossy Road, where you pay for cosmetics only rather than paying to win, this was very disappointing. I refuse to be manipulated into using crutches and dollars to win. I will only play if I can win on the merits of strategy alone. So, even though this game certainly has it's fun and engaging aspects, I am uninstalling after 144 levels. Given that I know you can do better, I hope that you will next time. Crossy Roads remains the only mobile game I have on my phone.
Adorable and overall well balanced
First thing I would like to say is that I don’t know how I found this game but I don’t think I ever saw an ad for this game, which I really respect! If your game is awesome you don’t need 800 ads, word of mouth will spread it.
Second, a lot of people have made comments on how you absolutely need to buy items to pass levels, I honestly think you might be able to without buying anything outside of the daily gifts, you just need to be patient. Also people have made comments about the time it takes to load lives. I agree it’s a long time, 10-15 mins would be more ideal, but it’s also good bc it forces you to step away from the game.
All in all I love this game, it’s cute, it’s fun, & honestly the in app purchases and ads are not even remotely as bad as half of the games I’ve played from the App Store. Well done, Hipster Whale, y’all are doing a great job!
