Pikaslice 4+

I have been waiting for a iPad slicer for years and this app is the beginning of something amazing. However, there are a few bugs that I’ve run into that has haunted my use. 1. I can never get the file to print, machine shows a file but no preview and it will act like it’s about to start but then stops. 2. Rafting, I notice that when I add a file the cursor and the file are far apart, I thought it was weird but continued on. Once I added a raft, it showed under the part but then all the way across the screen to the cursor that is out of the printing area. I’ve have tried for ever to figure out a fix but I haven’t been successful. I’ve been talking with the creator on Reddit so I’m hoping that these can be address because I really want this app to succeed.

Could you please send me an email with the brand/model of your printer and the scene file where you're having trouble with the raft? That'd really help me figure out these issues. If the scene file is larger than 25MB then please a link on Google Drive/DropBox/etc. Thanks!

First off, I am beyond thrilled that there is finally an, affordable, 3d slicer app on the App Store; this looks to be the first and only.

The app itself is great, I love the UI and actually prefer it over using the Chitubox slicer on my PC. There are some minor things that need tweaking. Moving your meshes can be kinda wonky at times and some minor moving of buttons might be nice, like scooting the auto-supports button to a more accessible area, and maybe also having an option where you can use auto-support, parent supports, and bracing at the push of one button rather than hitting all three separately. From looking at the update history, the developer is very active with improving this app.

My only issue, which very well might be my own fault, is that I’ve copied my normal exposure settings I use in Chitubox over to Pikaslice but was getting print failures (print was falling off of supports and becoming fused to the FEP sheet). I ended up boosting my exposure time and that remedied the issue. Chitubox still works with the original, unboosted, exposure times though. So I’ve been trying to figure out if this app is missing something or if Chitubox hides settings from its users.

Thank you for your feedback! There will be options later on to configure the UI to one's requirements, especially to let users focus on the task at hand. For the auto-supports: have you seen the three toggle buttons that enable automatic parenting and bracings when pressing the auto-supporting button?
I'am sorry about the print failure you had. Was the file supported within Pikaslice? Maybe I need to tweak the support tip diameter a bit. If you have further questions or feedback I'd love to hear from you via email on this page or the help view from within the app.

I’m new to this but learning a lot quick, this app seems nice, getting used to the slicing process before I very soon get a 3d printer. I will try this for at least a month but there’s more I want/need. I’ll be getting a filament printer, it’d be nice to see settings for infill, types of patterns, layer height initial layer height cooling settings, speed settings layer width etc, pretty much all of the advanced settings. If this app already has it I’m having trouble finding the advanced settings. I’m also afraid of the no print problem people seem to have but I am going to give it a try first

Hello, thanks for trying out Pikaslice, but the app is only working for/with resin/MSLA 3D printers (as stated on the App Store page) and not filament/FDM 3D printers. Those are two separate technologies that require a very different approach to slicing and are not compatible to each other.
