Bug, and missing basic keyboard features
I also encountered the bug where only the middle row displays.
However, this keyboard also lacks some basic features that have been in past Pinyin keyboards. Taping space twice does not insert a period, so sentences are a pain to compose since you have to hit the mode button. You should be able to choose a tone at the end of a 'character' (type "dong" or "guo" and then select the tone and have it go in the right place).
I would also recommend ü should be assigned to the "v" button.
Finally, this would be a bit easier to use if the keyboard looked like standard iOS keyboards, though this is perhaps a minor complaint if the other functionality was fixed.
The keyboard works as expected most of the time. Unfortunately there is a bad bug where only the middle row of keys display. To fix it, you need to activate the keyboard in Spotlight and then return to whatever app you were in.
Also the experience when selecting 'u' is pretty overwhelming since it's combined with 'ü'. I'd recommend assigning 'ü' to 'v'.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
