So helpful!

This app makes writing/analyzing 20th century/serial music so easy! It’s very easy to use. There’s another app out there that costs some cash, but this one looks and functions better. I just wish that when using the matrix you could switch the resulting matrix from number notation to pitch notation. Still a great get though!

Quite Useful

I found this app much easier than writing out clock faces over and over on paper for my Post-Tonal Theory class, there are only a few minor changes that I would like to suggest that would be really helpful. When using the piano or circle input it would be great to have some sort of optional playback, playing the piano tone of that pitch would be a good way to help audiate what sort of tone collections are being built. Another minor issue I had is that the Circle does not have Pitch Class 0 centered on the top like a clock face, instead it’s rotated so 0 and 11 are next to each other. Since most textbooks and methods write the diagram with 0 at the top position I find myself tilting my phone a little bit to help me recognize patterns. Again, these are just minor things, the rest of the app is very helpful. The matrix generator is a godsend and the Circle is a great visualization tool. This is certainly the best free app on iOS you will find for this sort of work.

Great!

This new version has improved a lot. I like it plays with sound and row labels made things more clear.
