Description

Reality is probably overrated. Art is not. Discover the Pixel is Data creative apps series for the iPhone and the Mac and make unexpected pixel art based on your photos.

What if pixels weren't necessarily supposed to look like little squares and sit in the so-called "right order"? What if what we call "real", "true", "figurative" images were not the only way our World can be represented? What if photographic data was just... data? What if it could be reinterpreted?

Select a preset and/or set your own parameters, give the app a photo to process and bang, you've got art. Find out more on Instagram at @pixelisdata and by searching for #pixelisdata.

A+ BUT doesnt save as hi-res WUT??

It continues to blow my mind that some devs *still* neglect to see (the what should be obvious) dire need for a high resolution final export.

It's the first functionality I check for when testing photo & video editing applications. Because, if the final image isn't hi-res, I have ZERO use for the app or service. Which then of course is immediately removed from my device.

It's an easy integration & tbh, you could even charge a one time fee for it and people would pay. I know I would.

C'mon, git it.

Lots of potential

This a nice pixel rendering app I’ve used off and on when my creativity flame itches, but I think the recent updates have broken my saved preferences. Photos render skewed to the right when it shouldn’t. Another improvement I’d like to see is more rendering parameters. Maybe adjusting the parameters could render the image in real time? Overall a good app to spend some time with and getting creative.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thanks for your feedback! Would you be so kind to send us an example of the issue you’re experiencing at hello@pixelisdata.org, as well as the precise versions of your iPhone and iOS install?

It's Simple, Random Fun

Yes, it's another glitch app, but the results are unique from the others, and I like the simple-yet-adjustable nature of the effects. It does take quite a while to process if you adjust certain sliders in certain ways (6 plus). This is what I consider a novelty app - one of those just-for-fun apps I can go to when I'm sick of editing photos and just want the app to do all the work and to make cool stuff with my photos for me. It's worth a buck or two.
