Pixel Winch is a screen measurement app with a unique approach – rather than overlaying complicated controls on top of your existing workflow, it uses an interface similar to a traditional image editor.
Select a region on the screen to load it inside of Pixel Winch. The captured region will automatically magnify on your display. Take measurements using any combination of the included tools.
Need to look up previous measurements? No problem — use the history list to revisit past images. Worried about images clogging up your hard drive? Pixel Winch can be configured to automatically delete them.
• Fixes compatibility issues with macOS 10.14 Mojave.
• Changes default preferences to "Show icon in Dock and menu bar" and "Show screenshots as Standard window".
• Adds basic Touch Bar support.

A designer's best friend
I use this pretty much daily. It's trivial to take a shot with shift-ctrl-cmd-5 and start measuring. All the tools you'd want are there. Rulers, marquee selection, the ability to add rectangular frames for square sizes.
The crowning feature, though, is the color-aware grapple tool. Just click in a color and start dragging to adjust tolerance until you've got the whole width or height you need. It's brilliant.
Being able to look back through a few recent screenshots, and switch between scale modes (1x, 2x, 3x) are also all very welcome capabilities.

Has saved me hours of tedious work
I use this app on a daily basis when working on the UI for my iOS app. Before Pixel Winch, I would copy and paste screenshots into an image editor and then use the marquee selection tool to take measurements. That was an incredibly time consuming process and the measurements weren't persistent. Now with just a few clicks, I instantly get pixel perfect measurements and can easily cycle through measurements from previous screenshots. All UI developers need this app!
