***I HAVE RATED THIS 5 STARS SO IT WILL SHOW UP NEAR THE TOP*** Okay yeah it’s a good app and you can upload photos and it has social media functions on top of being an actual pixel art creator… but it also has all of the issues of an actual social media app. It is legit like Twitter but with more art. So dead. And Bryan/Terphic (the moderator) is actually almost a dictator on here; he runs the entire site and only likes anime girl images and therefore those are almost the only ones that get staff picks and therefore any popularity. It is also IN THE TOS that Bryan can take credit for the work of anyone who uploads pixel art on the app and profit off it, just if you use the app. Most of the users on the app are minors and cannot be paid for their work except if directly for commissions, which some facilitate on the app. The drama is a lot. This is legitimately a social media app, with some people literally doing ERPs on the site, so please exercise caution… This app is rated 9+, but due to the content on the app that comes with the social media features, it should be rated closer to 13+

Good, could be better.

Hello. This is good, but its not just there yet. I understand that the other parts of pixilart on the website are not yet done being added to the app, so I have no taken off any stars for those. However, it seems that the search typing does not work on my iPad. I use a keyboard connected to my iPad and it yielded no results, nor did using the on-screen keyboard. Also, by ‘no results’, I mean that when I typed, no letters showed up in the bar as being typed whatsoever. However, there are definitely some things that are quite big improvements from the website, such as the way it saves the drawings so one can work on them at any time and have multiple in the process of being made, as well as the fact that the strange reload bug the site has is not present on the app. By the way, the reload thing I am referring to is when the site will randomly reload without any reason/user input and you end up losing all of the work you had done unless you had already uploaded the image to be able to edit it later on. This save feature is better because it also makes the need to upload so you can edit it later on not ever needed to be done. One final thing is that when pressing the back arrow to get to the home page, its confusing where you are, and you click back and still don’t always know how many things you opened through expanding posts. But that is less of an app issue, more of a user issue that is generally unavoidable.

Good art program but basically a dictatorship

Pixilart is good for drawing, it has good tools and such. Basically a smaller canvas version of any other art program. The problem with it is how it works. Bryan, the creator of Pixilart, has total say over what gets seen on the platform. There’s a system of “highlighted,” “staff pick,” and “picture of the day,” and if you don’t get selected for any of those your art will hardly get seen by anyone. And Bryan is the only person controlling ALL of those. Bryan only likes a very specific type of art- Anime girls, a very specific type of landscapes, and the occasional animation. Anything else, no matter how much the community begs for it to be selected, will be overlooked by Bryan. TL;DR: Bryan is the king of Pixilart and he has bad taste and if you want your art to be seen don’t go on Pixilart.
