Good Calendar app but could be better
I was looking for a time blocking application when I came across Plan. It takes a moment to understand how the system works but once you’re past the initial learning curve, it’s easy to navigate. My first issue is that I'm unable to receive notifications for my events because Plan doesn’t have notifications in my settings. When turning on notifications from the app it sends me to my iOS settings but when there, there’s no notifications setting to change in the first place. My second issue is that I’m unable to assign a calendar or list when inputting an event from the ‘Today’ view on my desktop. If this were available as an option, I feel as thought categorization of events/tasks would be much more streamlined. I look to use this mostly for my personal life more than work, but I appreciate having the multiple account integrations and accessibility to drive so that you’re able to directly connect items to tasks/events. I also appreciate being able to create individual projects within lists as to be able to divide my life into its parts and the associated projects within each part. Overall, this app has done a lot but if they addressed these two main issues, the app would be one of the best calendar apps hands down. Until then, it’s good but not great. I highly recommend giving this app a go to see if it works for your work/lifestyle.
I couldn’t replace it with anything else.
There is no service I have found that does exactly what Plan does or better. Google Calendar integration, Kanban view, lists and projects, a drag-able to-do list function, and more features that are all clearly explained in their FAQ. I’ve been a user of Plan for four years already and I plan to continue to use it for another four. I feel guilty that I’ve written some strongly worded emails during times between bug fixes, because the Plan team has been extremely patient with me to get them fixed. For a free service that works great for individual work, I can’t believe I’m getting the features that I do. While the mobile app leaves a lot to be desired, I mostly work on my desktop anyway and the mobile app is fine for on the go. I know your team is small Plan team, but keep up the good work, I’m incredibly thankful!
I like it but misses features i look for in a calendar app
I read about this app on a couple of websites, so i decided to try it out. It takes a second to learn how to navigate the app and input events. I think adding event times could be better streamlined. I like the task and meeting category for entries and the general layout. The app seems great but I think it could be improved. I also like the idea of being able to access the calendar on a desktop and other devices. My first issue is that I don’t like that i have automatically sync with google. I hate that I don’t have a monthly view. The input setup is a little tedious and a little difficult to understand. I wish i could also customize the icons that show up when you make a generic event. Sometimes the app force closes on me right after i put in an event. Overall the app needs improvement on things i believe most planners look for in an app. If improved I’d probably be willing to pay to use this app.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
